Billing Practice

We calculate our professional fees according to the principles set by the respective national Bar Association. This ensures that fees are fair and reasonable taking into consideration a number of elements, including the amount of work, the values and responsibilities involved, the complexity of the matter, the lawyer’s competence and speed in handling the case, and the outcome for the client.

In general, the above principles give room for agreements with clients to calculate fees on the basis of hourly rates and time spent. Also, in general, we find such agreements preferable, as they increase transparency for both the client and ourselves.

In standard and well-defined tasks, such as the formation of companies, purchase of real estate, or registration of trademarks, fixed fees can be negotiated.

Contingency fee arrangements or agreements are not permitted in Scandinavia.
